Looks of a quirky girl

Hallo loves, am so pleased to be sharing with you my first designer collaboration! I never thought I would live to see this day, but hey prayers actually work. For this post and a few others I will be in some of the pieces from Pendeza Africa and I hope you guys love them like I did.

Pendeza Africa is a fashion line by Purity Nderi. She is a blogger cum designer. Purity and I ran in the same social circles for a while but we started talking some time last year when I discovered she was also a blogger. At the time I wanted to guest post on her blog in order to draw some viewers and subscribers my way. I did not, but a sort of friendship formed and I would turn to her for advice on where to shoot, outfit assembling and what not. After my last shoot I posted on social media I was looking for designers to collaborate with and she hit me up. The rest as they say is history.

I fell in love with this jacket the moment I saw it. Out of her whole collection this jacket just stood out for me the most. The ankara detail just called to me (I am secretly,or not so secretly, in love with ankara) and the zipper detail on the sleeves and hood, gave me some ‘badmind energy’. It does not come off feminine like most coats making it even more appealing if you are going for an androgynous look or buying it for your fashionable boyfriend. I also enjoyed playing with the hood since it could be unzipped into the collar, neat right?

My first thought was to pair it with a plain little dress. Something that would not be distracting but sadly I have nothing like that in my wardrobe at the moment. So I just went with my second option. Jeans and a mustard bodysuit to complement the orange/yellow tones and the gold zip details. I have worn this pair of jeans in this post and they are one of my favorite. The mustard long sleeve bodysuit was a thrift from Toi Market earlier this year and the thigh highs are from M&S Elan

Paying attention to the warm hues of the ankara fabric and my mustard top, I went for gold accessories. A pair of golden loops gifted to me by a family friend and a golden choker were a perfect addition to the gold zipper detail. I feel like gold comes off more expensive and this kind of pairing might get you robbed if your walking on the wrong street. However if you want to look like “shmoney” go for it.

This outfit is guaranteed to draw all the attention your way.

I would pair it with a tee, shorts and trainers if you are going for a laid back look, or even sweatpants. You can also switch it up with a dress or skirt, I suggest something short, as long as it is subtle and does not draw attention away from this beautiful jacket. Also the jackets come in different colors so you can take your pick.

How would you pair it? Let me know in the comments or on my social media page.
